You win some...

Yesterday Blaine played in State Cup, the championship game.  It was a battle to say the least.  La Roca played Aresonal, a team they have played many times.  This particular team always give us a run for our money, and in the end it is a split... 50/50.  They win some, we win some.  Yesterday they won.  (insert cuss word here!).  They game was amazing.  The experience of going to state cup for the first year was amazing.  But the most amazing thing was watching my son.  He went to bed the night before nervous, that morning he was again nervous,  but he went out on the field and played an amazing game of soccer (as did the rest of his team).  After the game and some real dissapointment in not winning the championship game, he turned to me and said I guess we will have to beat them next year, and took his 2nd place medal with pride.  I love you son... and I learn from you every day!  Great Job this season, I have loved watching every minute of it!

It's Paying Off!

Today my oldest son, Blaine Thomas, earned his arrow of light.  Mentally it was a big "shew".   There are days when it feels like all of their activities are going to make me crazy, and a part of you wonders if they are getting anything from them.  Tonight I realized that they do... Blaine has learned so much and loved Cub Scouts.  I am proud of you son!

My Birthday Wish for my First Born

My Dear Sweet Daughter,

Where has the time gone?  It is hard to believe that today you turn 15!  Wasn't it just yesterday...

That I brought you home from the hosptial (wondering what I had gotten myself into) and your Dad and I took turns driving you up South Fork so you would sleep.

That I watched your excitement as we got a swing set and I would push you... Your reply was always "higher mommy higher".

That I walked you into your kindergarten class.  I don't think you even looked back.

Now you are a young lady and I wonder how that happened.  I love you! Have a GREAT day!

Sunday... No Church

Really, as a life long member of the LDS church, General Conference Sunday has to be the best two weekends of the year.  I am sitting here between sessions, it is dark because of the cold weather and I am contemplating blog or nap.  For me this decision would typically be an easy one... nap.  However I have promised my sis's and mom that I would do better and blog.  I would like anyone who is reading this to notice that my blog is now more graphically pleasing.  (yes I removed the christmas background from last year).  I have been "learnin'" how to beautify my blog.  I hope you will all be amazed!

I have to give a shout out of congrats to my sis Tracy.  We (Mom, Tracy and I) went to a digital scrapbooking class last night.  They gave away alot of gifts, however Tracy won the big one... a Wacom writing tablet!  She is lucky our sister Katie was not there, or she would have won it!

One last thing... enjoy the weather!
